Our Drive Down the Alcan

So we left Alaska, April 30..doesn't seem like it could have possibly been that long already. Here are a few pictures from our trip down the highway. While there were times that it seemed like we had been in the car for 17 days, we realized that it had only been 2 1/2. We arrived at our new home on May 4th..only a 3.5 day drive. The girls had fun..they settled in quite well. Ashlie and Emma Kate had a TON of things to keep them busy with (a HUGE thank you to everyone that contributed to the fun bag) but Olivia, well, not so much. By day 3, she basically screamed for 2-3 hour segments. It's not like we could do anything about it. If we pulled over, it just prolonged the inevitable. So we just kept going. By the time we got to our new house, Jas and I were positive that she would never get in the van again. But she was ready in a day or two :)

This picture was taken in my brothers driveway in Palmer and Livvie looks less than thrilled.
Not a good sign of things to come. :)

Emma named this Crocodile Lake

Ashlie took this picture..I think boredom was starting to set in.

Ashlie's favorite thing to do when we stopped was get pics of the different bathrooms. I'll spare you all and only post one of them..I just couldn't leave it out entirely. :)

Leaving AK and entering into Canada.

The girls in front of the famous sign forest.

Livvie in one of her rare happy moments. Actually she just took Emma's doll,
so she's feeling quite proud of herself. :)

A buffalo crossing the road in front of us. The girls thought
this was the coolest thing ever.

We saw this wolf on the side of the road..Emma
wanted to get it and bring it with us.

Livvie took my drink and went in the corner
and started drinking it. She thought she was pretty clever.

The girls getting some much needed leg exercises.

Livvie thought she'd join in on the action.

What a fun adventure! The crying moments are lame but I'm sure the rest of it was really fun! Someday, when gas prices go down???, we want to make that trip in a motorhome. Good job, staying so positive with your girls!
